Meet Your Friend, Amelia
Amelia Fisher completed her first book while a senior in college, but don’t let that sway you the wrong way. She’s relatable, flawed, honest and humble while also possessing wisdom beyond her years and an innate gift for writing. And she’s funny.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in Media and Journalism and Psychology, Fisher brings both creativity and curiosity. She thrives in advertising and public relations, multi-media design, creative storytelling, and people-centric work.
She competed on the UNC sailing team and has logged more than 1,000 nautical miles. While serving as a first-mate on a 50-foot monohull, she taught sailing to dozens of teens as a counselor in the Caribbean Sea. A native of landlocked Charlotte, her love for the sport began on the Neuse River at Camp Seafarer in eastern North Carolina—where years later, she found herself back on those waters racing with UNC. Her team may have finished 18th at the Sailpack Regatta, but they were proud to be noted for having the best “sail-by howdy” in the local paper.
The middle sister between two brothers, she’s competitive and driven, with a golf game that occasionally surprises even her and one half marathon finish to raise money for the YMCA’s Camp Seafarer.
But again, she’s not perfect and doesn't strive to be. She warmed the bench in most team sports in middle and high school, is a leadfoot driver, hopeless heart-on-her-sleeve friend, anchor-watch daydreamer, and proud proclaimer of her Harry Potter house.
Fisher grew up attending Myers Park United Methodist Church and sought to bring God more into her daily life while in college. Her first book, Ever-Present: A Testament to the Everyday Gospel Gifted To Each and Every One of Us, is a collection of honest, humorous stories about small and big moments that helped her better understand God’s guidance and love.
